We are delighted to announce that IOTA NanoSolutions Ltd was awarded the coveted NorthWest Regional Development Agency Science and Technology Business of the Year award at the Liverpool Daily Post Regional Business Awards ceremony held last night.

IOTA is the first ever recipient of this prestigious award which was presented on the basis of demonstrating the most impressive commercial application of science or technology.

IOTA NanoSolutions specialises in the enhanced formulation of insoluble compounds for next generation products. The unique properties of the Iota materials means that they can be used in many different industry applications including Agrochemicals, Biocides, Cosmetics, Flavours and Fragrances, Nutraceutical and Pharmaceutical markets.

IOTA was nominated by Dr. Geoff Wainwright, Director of MerseyBIO, the business incubation facility where they have been based since 2005. Dr. Wainwright commented “We are delighted and very proud to have been working with all of the team at Iota NanoSolutions.  They are a very exciting young company with a high-quality team that has a huge potential to impact positively on a wide variety of industry customers. We look forward to seeing them realising their undoubted potential in the coming years.”

The awards ceremony, now in its 15th year, took place in Liverpool’s prestigious St. George’s Hall and attracted over 500 high profile guests in celebration of the growing enterprise in the region.

Professor Steve Rannard, CSO of Iota commented of the success, “The IOTA team are delighted and overwhelmed with the Science and Technology Business of the Year award.  It is a real endorsement of everyone’s commitment to the company and the development of the technology. The team at MerseyBio are to be thanked for all their support for IOTA over the last two years. This is a genuine example of how successful collaborative technology transfer can be managed from UK Universities through to exploitation via a new start-up.”

Andrew Elphick, CEO of Iota, added “We have built a solid foundation for success over the last 2 years and are extremely excited at the recognition this prestigious award will add to our growing reputation.”
