Andrew Elphick appointed as CEO of Iota

The Board of Iota NanoSolutions Limited, the nanotechnology company established as a spin-out from Unilever Port Sunlight R&D in 2005, to develop and commercialise nanotechnology applications developed by Unilever and the University of Liverpool, are pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Elphick as Chief Executive Officer of the company. Prior to joining Iota NanoSolutions, Andrew was a Global Business Director at Oxonica PLC (a world leading “pure play” Nanotechnology Company, “spun out” from Oxford University and AIM listed in the summer of 2005). Andrew has previously held senior positions at Ernst and Young LLP in London, and in international business management within the Specialty Chemicals sector, in both the UK and Switzerland. Andrew joins the Iota team to bring additional focus to the company’s commercialisation strategy, as well as seeking to further deepen relationships with key customers and collaborators.
Iota NanoSolutions specialises in the formation of organic nanoparticles. The company’s proprietary technologies allow the processing of hydrophobic actives into a powder form which produces a nanoparticulate dispersion when added to water. These dispersions are often transparent, even though the nanoparticles of insoluble material can be present at high concentration. The technology offers enormous potential in a diverse range of applications including, Agrochemical, Biocides, Cosmetics, Flavours and Fragrances, Nutraceuticals and Pharmaceuticals markets.
